Wayne Warton is the Principal Solicitor/Director of WMG Legal. Wayne was admitted to practice in 2004 following an extensive career as a senior manager in one of Australia’s major insurance companies.

Following his admission, Wayne worked as a corporate lawyer in two large national law firms. Wayne has extensive experience in conveyancing, including residential and commercial property, leasing, buying and selling of businesses, dispute resolution and litigation, wills and estates, personal injury claims including ACT as well as work and motor vehicle accidents.

Wayne is client-focused, compassionate and approachable. He uses his astute legal knowledge to find practical legal solutions for his clients.

Chris Malfone

Chris Malfone is a Solicitor/Director at WMG Legal and is admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of Australia. He also has a double degree in Law/Commerce and completed his Graduate Diploma at the Australian National University.

Since commencing his legal career, Chris has worked in private practice in the ACT, and is well regarded by his clients’ due to his practical and commercial approach to legal matters.

In addition to practicing law, Chris is a small business owner who understands the challenges of owning and operating a small business and the importance of quality and affordable legal advice.

Steven Gavagna

Steven Gavagna

Steven Gavagna commenced his working career in the building industry and completed a Degree in Construction at the University of NSW with Honours in 1983. In 1990, he travelled and worked in the United States for 5 years broadening his knowledge. Steven came to Law later in life and completed his degree in 1999 at the Australian National University.

As a qualified Arbitrator and Adjudicator, he is involved in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution.

Combined with his experience in building his own practice, Steven assists in most areas of business, commercial contracts, construction management, dispute management and litigation, leases, land law, property, tax and finance.

Sebastian Marquez

Sebastian Marquez

Sebastian Marquez is a Solicitor at WMG Legal and has been admitted as a Solicitor in the Australian Capital Territory and in the High Court of Australia since 2016. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Australian National University in Law and Economics and obtained his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.

Sebastian has worked in private practice in the ACT and has broad experiences in many areas of law that provides him with a broad cohesive picture to apply to any problem.

Sebastian works closely with Steven Gavagna in a variety of matters.

Stephanie Newman

Stephanie joined our team in mid 2018 and specialises in ACT and NSW conveyancing.

Stephanie is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the ACT. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Queensland in 2017. Whilst having considerable experience in conveyancing, Stephanie also has particular interest in broadening her knowledge with respect to leasing, debt recovery and estate planning.
